VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — The City of Virginia Beach and the Virginia Aquarium commissioned artist Sarah Gallahan to paint a mural on the front of their North Building and it was completed on Monday.

The mural is about 66 feet wide and 38 feet high, illustrating three underwater sea turtles swimming. It took Gallahan nearly two weeks to complete the piece.

Take a look at project before the painting began:

According to a Facebook post, the Virginia Beach Arts led this project to represent the guest experience, the work of the Stranding Response Program, and the Aquarium's mission to protect endangered species within the marine environment.

You can now view the painting and utilize the scene for a photo opportunity. Visit their Facebook page, here.
