VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Calling all artists! There's a unique opportunity available thanks to an exciting collaboration between the ViBe Creative District and Bryant & Stratton College.
"We're so excited in the ViBe Creative District that our friends at Bryant & Stratton College reached out with an opportunity for either a local student or young adult to come paint a mural on their campus here in Virginia Beach. They have seen and watched the ViBe Creative District grow over the years. And of course, the number one thing that we've become known for locally is really interesting and unique murals." said Kate Pittman, the Executive Director of the ViBe Creative District.
"This is a really big deal. Our history of 170 years, to have such a footprint, a legacy laid that when guests come or students are on our campus or faculty or staff, they really get to see that someone took a moment and gave us a visual that we can feel inspired by on a regular basis," said Carolene Goodwyn Harris, the Market Director of Business Development and Community Relations at Bryant & Stratton College.
The mural should celebrate the 170th anniversary of the college. The mural space is approximately 8 feet tall by 28 feet long, and all materials needed to complete the mural will be provided. Not only will your artwork welcome everyone entering Bryant & Stratton, but you'll also receive a little something extra.
"It's either 50% off their tuition, which is $20,000 savings. And so that's a win-win, especially when you're talking about affordability for college. Or they can decide to do $2,000 in a cash reward. And so that's a win-win also," explained Goodwyn Harris. "The beauty of the tuition opportunity is, if you're not the person that wants to attend college, you can gift that to someone else."
