NORFOLK, Va. — Over the weekend, Norfolk police caught a criminal who's been causing mischief... Snowflake the Elf.
Snowflake is the Elf on the Shelf for the Burks family.
This is the first season Snowflake has spent with her 5-year-old best friend Hailee.
Hailee's parents say that Snowflake has done some pretty silly things each morning: cutting up Hailee's pajamas, making a swing out of Hailee's clothes and creating a sleigh out of Hailee's shoes with Paw Patrol pups as reindeer.
Recently, Hailee had to identify Snowflake after the elf had a brush-up with law enforcement.
Officer Watson with the Norfolk Police Department offered to make the day very special for Hailee when the Burks family contacted the department about pretending to arrest Snowflake.
Watson, a couple of coworkers and her supervisor all joined in on the fun, and the Burks family thanked them with donuts and coffee.
Brooke Burks, Hailee's mom, says that when Snowflake was first introduced to Hailee, her daughter was a little emotional because she was so excited.
Her parents say that this is a memory their little one will cherish forever.
