Gwendolyn Bailey has been in her home since 1985 and her energy bill had gotten out of control. She says heating and cooling her home has been a true struggle.
Bailey installed three window AC units to cool down her home in the summer. In the winter, she had to burn wood, open the stove and buy electric heaters that eventually blew out her sockets in order to live somewhat comfortably in her home.
She said all those workarounds led to her sky-high energy bills.
She says she is grateful to be chosen for the project.
"They did amazing things to this house that I know that I could not afford, and it was energy efficient," said Bailey. "For them to choose me, I don't know why, but I know God favors me."

Pusha T and Fam-Lay say this partnership with Dominion to provide this opportunity for Miss Bailey embodies the spirit of the Cousinz Festival by showing the different ways the community can come together for a common cause.
"The Cousinz Festival has always been inspired by the community," said Fam-Lay. "When we built this, that was the main thing that we wanted to do: express and come across that this is very community engaged."
Both rappers said they hope acts of kindness inspire others to pay it forward.
The inaugural Cousinz Festival is Saturday, August 31. For more information, click here.
