HAMPTON, Va. — Hampton native Tyrod Taylor has always had the desire to use the platform he has as an NFL quarterback for the New York Giants to give back to the place he calls home.

That passion got a massive addition on Saturday, with the official dedication of the Tyrod Taylor Wellness Center at the Boys & Girls Club of the Virginia Peninsula-Citizen in Hampton.

Taylor came back this weekend for the opening, breaking it in with free yoga instruction Saturday morning. Taylor has practiced yoga for a few years now, helping with the physical and mental challenges of playing a quarterback at the highest level.

He said places like the Boys and Girls clubs helping him growing up, and seeing his name on the building added plenty of emotion.

Taylor is entering his second season with the Giants.
