YORK CO., Va. — Charles Cager is described as a "super senior" substitute teacher at Tabb High School.
Mr. Cager is the school's long-term substitute teacher, he began working during COVID-19 and just kept coming back.
He was nominated to be a News 3 Everyday Hero for being the "energizer bunny of the community."
Mr. Cager has been retired for many years, but retired is a loose word in this case. He told News 3 that the kids are what keep him coming back every day.

He also gave us one other reason:
"There are some people who are retired and there are some people who are retired. There's a big difference. A great big difference. Being home every day, I love my wife dearly but she gets on my nerves. That's all I can say. I hope she doesn't hear this," Cager said.
