Some families rang in the new year with a new little family member at Hampton Roads hospitals!

At Riverside, the Godwin famiily welcomed Daphne, born at 1:03 a.m., weighing 7 pounds, 3 ounces and 20 inches!

Sentara says the family that had the first and second babies of the new year in their hospitals didn't want to share their information, but the Johnson-Minton family welcomed baby boy Shine Monday at 9:20 a.m., making him the third baby of the new year at the hospital network.

Mother Cherrelle Minton became pregnant with Shine on dad Maurice Johnson's birthday, and Sentara says Shine was supposed to be born on Cherrelle's mother's birthday, but came nine days early!

Sentara says one baby born at Sentara Obici Hospital was born right at midnight, and the second, born at Sentara Leigh Hospital, was born at 2:28 a.m.

At Chesapeake Regional, Erika and Nathan Gonzalez welcomed baby girl Eliana at 12:55 a.m.!

Little Eliana weighed in at 6 pounds and 12.3 ounces and is 18.5 inches long!

Chesapeake Regional says new family-centered postpartum rooms are coming soon to the BirthPlace, with the entire unit being expanded to create rooms one and a half times larger than their current size with a "spa-like" atmosphere for new mothers and their families to enjoy!
