NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Are you looking for your next outside adventure?
The City of Newport News is bringing a new event to the city. The Outdoor Enthusiast Event will be held at Newport News Park this Saturday, April 23 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. This event is hosted in partnership with the 733d Force Support Squadron at Fort Eustis.
Those who attend this event will be able to enjoy free activities including, hot air balloon, paddleboat, kayak, and canoe rides; a rowing regatta; parkour station; rock wall; lumberjack shows; volleyball; yoga; inflatable obstacle courses; axe throwing; and nature walks. The event will also features children’s activities, food and craft beer vendors, and much more.
Admission, activities and parking are all free and open to the public.
Arboretum Stage Entertainment Schedule:
- 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.: TRADOC Band
- 1:45 a.m. – 12:45 p.m.: Billy Mercury
- 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.: TRADOC Band
- 2:15 p.m. – 3:15 p.m.: Jesse Chong Band
- 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.: It's Like That
Timber Works Lumberjack Shows: 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 4 p.m.
Show elements: log rolling, cross cut sawing, hot sawing, axe throwing, chainsaw carving, chopping, and speed pole climbing
Yoga in the Park (20 min. open sessions):
10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 4:30 p.m.
