"We only know a handful of careers in our life. It's the careers that our parents do, what we're exposed to like teachers in school, the doctor that we may go to once a year," said Amanda Jackson, the director of Chesapeake Public Library. "So there's just a handful of careers that we really even think about being optional to us. This exposes them to so many more careers to allow them to see just a variety of options."
Students had the opportunity to discover what they're most interested in and use that passion to apply to the right academy within the Chesapeake Public Schools System to get a jump start in their career path.
