VIRGINIA BEACH, Va — On Saturday, Santa Claus came to town a little early to visit with children and help raise money for local communities.

This weekend, the man with the bag known as "Santa Vic" partnered with a non-profit that helps children of color and their families.

For the last few years, Santa Vic has shown communities that Chris Kringle can be any color.

Over the weekend, Santa Vic met with children at Prince Tea House in Virginia Beach, where he took pictures with them and presented a special gift to each child.

Proceeds from the event will be put back into the community through the national nonprofit, the Jack and Jill of America Foundation. The non-profit is a mother's organization dedicated to helping African-American children succeed.

As a native of Hampton Roads, Santa Vic says he's proud to have helped out.

"The fact that it reaches everybody in Hampton Roads meant a lot to me," explained Santa Vic. "A lot of times organizations are so big this area doesn't get to see any of the proceeds or any help so the fact that it stays right here where I was born and raised just want to do my part and give it back,"

According the Christina Carey, the president of the Norfolk chapter of the non-profit, money will be used to make sure children in black communities don't go without.

"Our non-profit supports thousands of families yearly through events like food drives and clothing drives not just in Norfolk but across Hampton Roads," said Carey.

According to the foundation director, Darlene Brown the Jack and Jill of America foundation is committed to making a positive impact in communities by working hard to transform communities one child at a time.
