VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — Kempsville PONY Baseball kicked off their season with a show of support for Virginia Beach police as the department continues to mourn two fallen officers.

At the baseball league's opening day Saturday, the team presented a $1,500 check to the VBPD Police Fund. The check was earmarked for the Fourth Precinct, where Officers Cameron Girvin and Christopher Reese were assigned. The partners were recently killed in the line of duty.

The team also presented the precinct's Commanding Officer, Captain William Gervin, with a jersey that read VBPD Strong 4th Precinct and a game ball with both of the fallen officer's names on them.
