HAMPTON, Va. — Saturday, students from across Hampton Roads got hands-on in the world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

The 7th annual STEM Symposium and College Fair, hosted by Time Out4U Inc., allowed students to experience a day of educational activities, projects, and presentations.

It also introduced students to new opportunities in the field.

“It only takes a spark to ignite the spirits of our youth. Our Annual STEM Symposium is that spark; that moment of change for a child who shifts their mindset toward imagination, possibility and confidence to say…’hey, I can do this,’” said Chandra Oaks Garcia, Founder of Time Out4U Inc.

The event was held at the Hampton Roads Convention Center.

Time Out4U Inc. is a Hampton-based nonprofit youth engineering organization with a goal of diversifying the workforce by broadening interest and access to STEM for students.
