NORFOLK, Va. — The Chrysler Museum of Art held its 4th Annual "Bake Off" for "Chrysler Sunday" and local bakers competed to hold this year's winner's title.

Bakers had to turn cakes into masterpieces that replicate art that can be found inside the museum.

"Folks here have done a wonderful job portraying some of the pieces in the museum, it's really beautiful," said Courtney Doyle, a bake-off judge and Ward 2 representative of the Norfolk City Council.

Pieces ranged from flat mosaic pastries to large tiers of white chocolate sculptures.

Some bakers said it took them up to 10 hours to create the desserts you see on display out of rice crispy treats, icing and more.

"Anybody can participate, you don't even have to be a good baker to do it. You just have to be inspired by art and put your piece together and bring it here on a Chrysler Sunday during the holiday season and see what it looks like for the community," said Doyle.

The museum staff is inviting you to check out more of the free events they have to offer. For more information, visit chrysler.org.
