SUFFOLK, Va. - People looking to shop local hit the pavement in Suffolk on Saturday for the city's annual Small Business Saturday event.

The indoor-outdoor market featured more than 60 vendors that were handpicked, according to a release.

Tents lined lots on either side of Main Street and several vendors were also placed inside an adjacent vacant storefront.

Some of the holiday selections for sale included delicious baked goods, handmade crafts and unique jewelry.

Sisters Courtney and Cassidy Hayes celebrated their second appearance at the market with their Abide permanent jewelry line.

“So we’re local to Suffolk, we love Suffolk and we love the opportunity to do pop-ups here in our hometown. Small Business Saturday is a great way to do that and we’re super thankful for the people of Suffolk that put this on and we’re so glad that they’ve asked us to come back," said Courtney Hayes.

Santa Claus also made an appearance at the free event to listen to children's Christmas wishes.
