HAMPTON ROADS, Va. — We are already nearing the start of December, which means if you haven't felt the holiday cheer yet, you're about to. News 3 is helping you plan for the holidays with fun ways you can celebrate.

Giving Tuesday

It’s the giving season and November 29 is Giving Tuesday, a day dedicated to the generosity seen across the globe every year. If you'd like to give back, we ask you to consider our Holiday Helpers campaign.

We’re collecting money and toy donations for families living in area shelters now through December 14th. If you can't give money on Giving Tuesday, you can always lend your time, or spread awareness on a special cause.

Dirty Dancing in Concert

If you want to have the 'time of your life' — listen up! Wednesday, November 30, the music behind the 80's classic film 'Dirty Dancing' is coming to Chrysler Hall. This is the first live film-to-concert experience since the movie hit the big screen 35 years ago. The concert begins Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., and tickets start at $37.

Bayport Credit Union Holiday Lights at the Beach

If you're looking to have some holiday fun with the family this week, every night lights will illuminate the Virginia Beach boardwalk. The Bayport Credit Union's Holiday Lights at the Beach event is back.

The drive-thru event starts at 5:30 p.m. seven days a week until New Year's Day. Tickets start at $21 per car. Prices vary depending on the vehicle you drive and the day you go.

Suffolk’s Festival of Lights

Suffolk's Festival of Lights at Sleepy Hole Park reopened last weekend. The celebration runs every day from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. You can drive through the park for free and enjoy the glimmer of 35,000 light bulbs. The event will run until December 30.

Yorktown’s Lighted Boat Parade

First by land, then by sea — Hampton Roads is full of light displays this time of year. This weekend, Yorktown's lighted boat parade is sailing back into town. It's happening at the Riverwalk Landing Piers this Saturday, December 3 from 7 to 8 p.m., and it's completely free to watch.

39th Annual Chesapeake Rotary Club Christmas Parade

Also happening this Saturday is the annual Chesapeake Rotary Club Christmas Parade! The parade returns to the city to ring in some holiday cheer. This is the 39th year for the parade and it kicks off at 6 p.m. It will start at Mt. Pleasant Road and Battlefield Boulevard and end in front of city hall.

Sesame Street Live! Make Your Magic

This one is perfect to take the kids to. ‘Sesame Street Live!’ is returning to Hampton Roads. This Saturday, there are two opportunities to hang out with Elmo, Big Bird and Cookie Monster at Chartway Arena in Norfolk. There's one show at 2 p.m. and another at 5:30 p.m. Ticket prices start at $23.

First Friday Artwalk

It’s the first Friday of the month-- which means Elizabeth City is hosting its 'First Friday Artwalk.'

Streets downtown will come to life with artwork. Each month features a new artist and new activities. The walk kicks off at 4 p.m. and runs until 7 p.m. It is free and open to everyone.

Olde Towne Antique & Flea market

Since it’s the first weekend of the month, Olde Towne in Portsmouth is hosting its antique and flea market. Rain or shine, there will be more than 70 vendors on site selling everything from furniture to instruments to handmade crafts. It's happening Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and it's free to attend.

Phoebus Holiday Illumination and Christmas Market

This weekend, the Phoebus community will transform into a festive outdoor market, featuring handmade items, food trucks and family-friendly entertainment. There will also be a special tree lighting ceremony.

This is happening Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mellen Street, and it is free to attend.

Santa’s Workshop at the Virginia Beach Farmers Market

If you're headed to Virginia Beach's Farmers Market this weekend, you might just stumble upon Santa’s workshop. This special version of the farmers market is happening Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. off of Dam Neck Road.

We are told there will be more than 90 vendors selling unique items that could make the perfect gift! The farmers market is free to attend.
