Strawberry picking returns
Get your baskets ready! Strawberry picking has returned to our area. Many local farms kicked off the season at the start of the month. Every day of the week, there's a nearby farm where you and the family can head out to to pick fresh produce. This includes Hickory Ridge, Greenbrier Farms and several farms in the Pungo area.

Norfolk Tides vs. Rochester Red Wings
The Norfolk Tides are back in action this week. They take on the Rochester Red Wings Tuesday through Sunday at Harbor Park. Tuesday's game is $2 beer and popcorn night and Sunday is Bark in the Park. Tickets start at $15.

Virginia International Tattoo
This week, the Virginia International Tattoo is back at the Norfolk Scope Arena. From Thursday to Sunday, you have several chances to hear the military musical performance, which features bands from all across the globe. Tickets start at just $20.

Virginia Beach Farmers Market Birthday Bash
The Virginia Beach Farmer's Market is hosting a special event to celebrate its 47th birthday this weekend! This Saturday, you can join them for their 'Birthday Bash' off of Dam Neck Road near Princess Anne. We are told there will be more than 90 booths, food trucks, birthday cake and more. The event is happening from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Crush n’ Run
How far would you go to get your hands on an orange crush from Waterman's, Chix on the Beach or The Shack? Well apparently, the business owners there would like to find out. It's what inspired them to host a 5k charity run this Saturday on the boardwalk. It's $40 to enter and raises money for local charities

Earth Day experience and celebration
This Saturday is Earth Day, and Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation is hosting a celebration at Mount Trashmore. They are planning a fun-filled day for the entire family, including food trucks, hands on learning and educational talks about the environment. It's from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m., and it's free to the public.
