How about kicking off the week with some Shakespeare? The Virginia Stage Company and the Norfolk State University Theater Company are performing Henry V. The show opens up at Wells Theatre this Wednesday, April 12, and you have several chances to see it throughout the month. Tickets start at $17.
East Beach Farmers Market
Now that the spring weather has arrived, we are seeing more local farmers markets kick off the season. This Saturday, April 15, the East Beach Farmers Market returns to Ocean View. They'll be open every week from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. until November. There will be vendors selling everything from sandwiches, to fresh produce to arts and crafts.
Bulls and Barrels Beach Rodeo
Grab your cowboy boots and head to the beach! This weekend, the Bulls and Barrels Beach Rodeo is coming to Virginia Beach. On Saturday, April 15 and Sunday, April 16, you and the family can watch professional bull riders compete to win the Best of the Beach buckle.
Priority Charity Bowl ODU
Why not enjoy a football game in the springtime? The Priority Charity Bowl ODU spring football game is set for this Saturday, April 15 at 2 p.m., at the S.B. Ballard stadium. It's a free game that's open to the public. This is the longest-running charity football game and it raises money for children's charities in Hampton Roads.
IKEA Military Child Appreciation Day
It is month of the military child, and the Ikea in Norfolk is hosting a special celebration for the Hampton Roads region. This Friday, April 14 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m., Ikea will host a special event featuring free meals for military kids, fun activities, giveaways, performers and more. You will need to sign up for the event ahead of time.
Taylor Rave
This is for any 'Swifties' out there. If you are 18 or older, you can attend the Taylor Rave at Elevation 27 in Virginia Beach. It will be a dance party listening exclusively to Taylor Swift originals. We do want to stress that unfortunately, Taylor Swift herself will not be in attendance. It's happening this Friday, April 14 at 10:30 p.m.
Williamsburg farmer's market
If you are up on the Peninsula, Williamsburg's regular farmer's market season kicked off last month. It's open every Saturday until the end of October. It's open from 8 a.m. until noon, and features locally grown produce, fresh seafood, flowers and more.
