PORTSMOUTH, Va. - A man has died after a shooting that happened early Thursday morning.
The incident happened in the 10 block of Lake Forest Court around 1 a.m.
An adult man had a gunshot wound to his upper body, police said.
Medics took the victim to a local hospital, where he died from his injuries a short time later.
The victim has been identified as 30-year-old Eric Silver of Portsmouth. His death is being investigated as a homicide.
Detectives with the Portsmouth Police Department's Major Crimes Unit are continuing to investigate this incident.
