Suspect arrested after man stabbed to death in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Va. – A suspect that police believe was involved in a stabbing that killed a man Sunday morning has been arrested.

Police say they found the victim’s body in the 3800 block of Bluestone Avenue around 5:35 a.m. He was pronounced dead on scene.

The victim has been identified as 48-year-old Samuel L. Wiggins of Norfolk.

As a result of the investigation, detectives secured warrants on Sunday for 49-year-old Gregory E. McDonald of Norfolk for second degree murder.

On Monday, police say that McDonald  was arrested in Virginia Beach.

Detectives have not released the motive or circumstances surrounding this homicide but ask for anyone with information to call the Norfolk Crime Line.
