Deputies arrest suspect after attempted robbery at York Co. bank

YORK Co., Va. – The York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office has arrested a suspect after an attempted bank robbery Saturday morning.

According to police, the call came in at around 9:31 a.m. Deputies responded to the BB&T Bank in the 6700 block of Mooretown Road, where they learned that the suspect did not display a weapon or leave with any money.

The suspect has been identified as 52-year-old Timothy Lee Crissman.

Sheriff Diggs thanked those who sent in tips on this case.

These tips assisted our investigators in identifying the suspect and making the arrest,” Sheriff Diggs said, “Our community has been very supportive in helping us identify and find suspects in many cases. The crime tips from the citizens are so valuable in helping keep our crime rate low.”
