Suspect arrested in connection with Norfolk shooting that left man critically injured

NORFOLK, Va. – A suspect has been detained after a shooting in the 800 block of Wolcott Avenue left a man injured Tuesday night.

The call came in around 8 p.m.

Police say the victim was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment. His injuries are said to be life-threatening.

Ray D. Williams was arrested and charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm. He is being held in the Norfolk City Jail without bond.
