Five people injured in vessel collision on the Pamlico Sound

CAPE HATTERAS, N.C. – The Coast Guard responded Saturday to a vessel collision that led to five people sustaining injuries.

According to officials, members of the U.S. Coast Guard Station Hatteras Inlet used a 47′ Motor Life Boat to transfer the crew back to the station, where EMS was waiting and continued to assess their injuries.

The cause of the collision is not known at this time.
