HAMPTON ROADS, Va. – Thousands were without power Tuesday morning after storms in the region brought heavy rains and winds, according to Dominion Power.

At the high of the outages, more than 2,100 had lost power in James City County due to downed power lines caused by fallen trees. There were around 300 customers without power because of construction in Williamsburg.

Some smaller-scale outages were seen across the region in multiple Hampton Roads cities, including, Hampton, Suffolk, Chesapeake and Newport News.

Dominion Energy believes that customers could see power back by 7 a.m. at the latest, and most outages have been repaired.
