NORFOLK, Va. – A two-vehicle crash at the intersection of N. Military Highway and E. Little Creek Road left eight people hurt Monday afternoon.

Police responded to the area around 1:30 p.m.

Authorities say the victims, four of whom were children ages 10-15, were taken to the hospital for treatment. Their injuries are said to be non-life-threatening.

The crash involved a black vehicle and a white vehicle. Police say the black vehicle was traveling on E. Little Creek Road when the female driver ran a red light and hit the white vehicle that was trying to cross the intersection from Pythian Avenue onto N. Military Highway.

The driver of the black vehicle was cited with failure to stop at a red light, while the driver of the white vehicle was cited with operating a vehicle without a driver’s license.

The roadway is now clear, police say.
