VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – A bus driver has been issued a summons after a crash Tuesday morning.

A call about the crash in the 600 block of Independence Blvd., was made to police at 8:15 a.m.

The school bus was travelling North on Independence when it rear ended a pick-up truck, which got pushed into an SUV, according to police.

An occupant from the SUV was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. There were 21 Old Donation School students on board but none of them were reported injured.

A new bus was sent to pick the students up and parents were notified about the crash.

Police said the driver of the school bus was issued a summons for following too close.
