What you need to know for Tuesday’s primary elections in Virginia

HAMPTON ROADS, Va. - Primary elections for the Virginia House of Delegates, Virginia Senate and a number of local offices will be held in 73 localities in Virginia June 11.

The polls will open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. If a registered voter is in line by 7 p.m., they will be able to vote. Voters must show one acceptable photo ID to vote in person, including a Virginia driver's license, a DMV-issued photo ID, a United States passport or another U.S. or Virginia government-issued photo ID.

All 140 seats in Virginia's General Assembly are up for grabs.

You can no longer register to vote for primary elections on Tuesday. And, the last date to vote absentee, whether in-person or by mail, has passed.
