YORK Co., Va. – A man has died after a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle on Wednesday.

Troopers were dispatched to Lakeside Drive east of Ashley Avenue in York County around 2:41 p.m.

Authorities say the driver of a 2013 Lexus, identified as 75-year-old Susan D. Sarro of Hampton, was coming off Ashley Avenue when she turned into the path of a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle, which was traveling westbound on Lakeside Drive.

The Lexus hit the motorcycle, causing it to run off the road and into a fence.

The motorcyclist, identified as 63-year-old Gary Wade Massey of Hampton, suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Riverside Regional Medical Center, where he later died. His family has been notified.

Sarro was charged with reckless driving.

The investigating Trooper and the Virginia State Police Reconstruction Team responded to the scene. VDOT crews assisted with lane closures and setting up a detour.
