VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – A two-vehicle crash involving a police car occurred at Lynnhaven Parkway and Princess Anne Road Monday afternoon.
Reports say that the officer was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Officials said to be travelling southbound on Lynnhaven Parkway, responding to a priority 2 call for service with the emergency equipment activated.
Reports also say that the police vehicle slowed down to a stop at a red light at Princess Anne Road, and as the cruiser continued through the intersection it was struck on the passenger’s side by a vehicle that was travelling westbound on Princess Anne Road.
The driver in the second vehicle was said to not be injured. The crash is currently under investigation.
