RICHMOND, Va. - After a long time, it's Maury's time.

Maury hoists their Class 5 VHSL state title

Wednesday, Maury High School's boys basketball team defeated Freedom-South Riding 57-49 to win the Virginia High School League (VHSL) Class 5 boys state title. It's Maury's first state championship in boys basketball since 1927.

Clarence Rupert led the Commodores (25-and-3) with 18 points.
