1 person displaced after recreational vehicle destroyed by fire in Suffolk

SUFFOLK, Va. – Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded to a recreational vehicle fire in the 500 block of Freeman Mill Road that has now left one person displaced.

Upon arrival, officials said the recreational vehicle was fully involved with the fire extending into the detached garage.

The crews were able to extinguish the fire in the garage quickly and were able to save the majority of the structure. The vehicle, however, was a total loss.

Community Electric crews also responded to the scene and secured power to the property. One person has been displaced due to the damage of the fire and will be assisted by the American Red Cross for lodging.

The main residence was reported to not be damaged by smoke or fire. At 5:05 p.m, the fire was said to be under control by officials and no injuries were reported.

The Fire Marshal’s Office will be investigating the cause of the fire.
