Police: Portsmouth school closes Tuesday after ex-employee makes Internet threat

PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Portsmouth Catholic Regional School was closed Tuesday due to safety concerns, according to authorities.

Portsmouth Police said an employee who was recently fired made a vague threat on the Internet.

While the magistrate did not issue a warrant for the employee, a protective order was issued.

Police will be on scene Wednesday morning as school opens to provide extra security.
