Gloucester family displaced after residential structure fire

GLOUCESTER, Va. – The Gloucester Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire in the 8400 block of Route 17.

Dispatchers received the call for the fire at 2:07 p.m. According to the fire department, a section of southbound Route 17 had been partially closed, with one lane open to traffic.

The fire formed in the rear side of the structure in the electrical panel and then spread to the attic.

A small family will be displaced due to the fire. No injuries were reported.
