CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Police in Chesapeake have arrested a man in connection to a shooting that happened on Vicker Avenue in Chesapeake around 2:30 a.m. Friday.

Officers believed the shooting suspect, identified as 50-year-old Chesapeake man Charles Price, was in a warehouse on Vicker Avenue. As of 9:15 a.m., police said Price surrendered and was charged with one count of aggravated malicious wounding, one count of attempted aggravated malicious wounding and two counts of use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

According to police, one woman — who was in a vehicle at the time — was shot by a handgun during an argument with a man. She was taken to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries after police and medics responded to her in the 1100 block of Commerce Drive. She reportedly drove there after being shot on Vicker Avenue.

The owner of the warehouse says that he rents garages there out to people so they can run their own car repair, etc. shops out of it. The suspect was found in one of these garages.

Price is currently being held at the Chesapeake City Jail.
