Man left with life-threatening injuries after Norfolk crash

NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk Police have issued a correction regarding a crash on Northampton Boulevard and Premium Outlets Boulevard.

According to police, though the crash was initially reported as fatal, the 66-year-old man involved survived. He was taken to the hospital and is being treated for life-threatening injuries.

Police responded at 10:15 a.m. to a two-vehicle crash in the 6200 block of Northampton Boulevard. The 66-year-old man was driving eastbound on Northampton when he rear-ended a Dodge Ram stopped at a light.

No other vehicles were involved, and no other injuries were reported.

All eastbound lanes have now reopened after being closed. The eastbound I-264 ramp at Northampton Boulevard has also re-opened.

Drivers were asked to avoid the area while police investigated.
