Suffolk Police investigating after vehicle struck by train

SUFFOLK, Va. – Suffolk Police are investigating after a vehicle was struck by a Norfolk Southern train early Thursday morning.

The crash occurred at the train crossing at Saratoga Street and Smith Street at approximately 12:45 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found an adult man, the only person in the vehicle, suffering from non-life threatening injuries.

The man was taken to an area hospital after being assessed and treated by Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel.
