Police capture escaped inmate out of Emporia

EMPORIA, Va. — Law enforcement authorities across Virginia were searching for an inmate who escaped from Southside Regional Jail Monday afternoon.

46-year-old Christopher Michael Robinson escaped around 3 p.m.

Robinson was apprehended around 9:30 a.m., in Greensville County. No other details have been released at this time, CBS 6 reported. 

There was previously a multi-jurisdictional man hunt being conducted.

Officials said Robinson was being held for one charge of misdemeanor larceny of a vehicle.
