Handgun recovered during traffic stop in Newport News

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Newport News Police Department’s High Impact Patrol (HIP) recovered a concealed weapon during a traffic stop.

According to police, officers conducted a traffic stop in the area of Colony Road and Warwick Boulevard. A narcotics K9 alerted on the vehicle, and a concealed handgun was found under the driver’s seat.

The driver was summonsed for possession of a concealed weapon and a traffic offense.
