Police make arrest in Suffolk homicide

SUFFOLK, Va. - Suffolk Police are investigating a shooting that left one man dead in the 1000 block of Nansemond Parkway, Sunday afternoon.

The victim as 30-year-old, Corey Lovell Baker, of Suffolk, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

According to officials, 21-year-old, Tavarus Gray Jr., reportedly fled the scene in a white panel van prior to officers arriving.

Gray was arrested shortly after midnight Tuesday morning. He is being held at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail without bond.

Tavarus Gray is scheduled for an arraignment in Suffolk General District on November 13.
