15-year-old girl shot in Norfolk

HAMPTON, Va. — A 15-year-old girl was shot in Norfolk on Monday around 11 p.m. in the city.

According to Norfolk Police, the shooting happened in the 100 block of Glendale Ave., and officers arrived to find the girl suffering from non-life threatening injuries.

She was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound and is expected to be okay.

Detectives are investigating the incident as a possible accidental shooting that happened inside a residence.

The investigation is ongoing and charges may be filed, police said.

This incident comes after several other teens have been shot in the city in August alone.
