Norfolk Police make arrest in bank robbery investigation

NORFOLK, Va. – Norfolk Police made an arrest in a bank robbery at a Wells Fargo Thursday morning.

The bank is in the 7000 block of Granby Street. The initial report came in at 9 a.m. after a man entered the bank, implied he had a weapon and demanded money.

No injuries were reported, according to police.

Omar S. Brinson of the 7600 block of Restmere Road was arrested for several commercial robberies in the Wards Corner area, including the Granby Street Wells Fargo. He was charged with several counts of robbery, use of a firearm and unlawful wearing of a mask.

Authorities said the arrest was made at Wards Corner Thursday night. Brinson is currently held without bail at the Norfolk City Jail.
