RICHMOND, Va. - Chesapeake's DeAngelo Hall is hanging his shoulder pads up for good.

The 14-year NFL veteran announced his retirement from the league Wednesday at Redskins Training Camp.
" You probably heard, I'm sure you heard months ago. But after 14 seasons of professional football, I will be officially retiring today," Hall told reporters.
Hall was a Deep Creek High standout in Chesapeake before starring at Virginia Tech for three seasons. He told reporters his playing days were over in May, but did not confirm those reports until today.

Hall, the eighth overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons in the 2004 NFL Draft, was a three-time Pro Bowl selection. After spending his first four seasons with Atlanta, Hall then had a short eight-game stint in Oakland.
The Redskins signed Hall in 2008 after his release from the Raiders, and would have some of his most memorable moments, including a four-interception game against the Bears in 2010.
In 14 seasons, Hall played in 171 games - recording 43 interceptions. However, injuries limited the defensive back to just 22 games the last four seasons.
