Woman killed in Hampton shooting, police investigating

HAMPTON, Va. - Police in Hampton are investigating the shooting death of a woman Wednesday.

Officials say the shooting happened around 12 p.m. in the 1000 block of E. Pembroke Avenue.

Police arrived to find a woman in the street suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim, later identified as 36-year-old Kelly Phillips, was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where she later died.

Police are still investigating the shooting and no suspect information has been provided.
