Chief Meteorologist Patrick Rockey’s First Warning Forecast

***Flash Flood Watch is in effect for a large portion of NC, including Dare County until midnight tonight.

The remnants of Alberto along with a broad area of high-pressure in the Atlantic will bring us high temperatures in the 80s and even near 90° this week along with a decent chance for showers and thunderstorms each day.

Many folks will head back to work on Tuesday to more showers and thunderstorms. And we can expect the chance for wet weather throughout the day. Expect high temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s.

Wednesday is looking a bit better with a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly in the afternoon.

The heat and humidity really start to kick in on Thursday and Friday. Expect high temperatures back in the mid-80s on Thursday and near 90° on Friday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely both days.

And wet weather is looking likely on Saturday as well. But the big question is what happens on Sunday.

A cold front is expected to sweep into the region this weekend.

If it clears our area, we can expect improving weather on Sunday.

If the front decides to stick around, we will stay on the unsettled side. Stay tuned.
