Newport News teacher placed on leave after alleged incident involving student

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – A teacher at Epes Elementary School has been placed on administrative leave after a report of misconduct involving a student, a spokesperson with Newport News Public Schools said Friday.

After the alleged incident, school officials launched an investigation in cooperation with Child Protective Services.

NNPS did not provide any details about the incident.

The teacher will remain on leave pending the outcome of the investigation.
