Firefighters respond to vacant house fire in Chesapeake

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Firefighters in Chesapeake are on-scene of a fire that started around 9:30 p.m. Sunday.

According to officials, due to conditions, they are fighting the fire from the exterior of the vacant home in the 1900 block of Old Jolliff Road.

Neighbors told firefighters the home was vacant and no one was inside. The house sustained significant damage but crews were eventually able to enter part of the home.

The fire was brought under control at 10:22 pm.

The fire is still under investigation.
