NEW YORK CITY, N.Y. – In 1947, Jackie Robinson became the first African-American to play in the MLB with the Brooklyn Dodgers. It was a barrier that had never been broken, and one that wasn’t welcomed warmly.

Robinson would go on to have an efficient career on & off the field. To this day, the MLB honors Robinson on April 15th to commemorate the groundbreaking day.
