Family of four displaced after Chesapeake house fire

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Four people have been displaced after a house fire in the 600 block of Luther Street Friday afternoon.

Firefighters were notified of the incident at 4:19 p.m. and arrived at the scene to defensive fire conditions.

Heavy fire affected the attached garage, the first floor, second floor and attic.

Two occupants were at home at the time of the incident and were able to escape thanks to a neighbor who alerted them to the fire.

The family, consisting of two adults and two children, are making area lodging arrangements.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
