CHESAPEAKE, Va. – Firefighters with the Chesapeake Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 1700 block of Dock Landing Road Wednesday night.

The call came in shortly before 9 p.m. Crews arrived at the scene to find heavy fire coming from the back of the one-story, single-family home.
The fire was brought under control at 9:15 p.m. The residents of the home and their dog escaped unharmed.
Investigators are currently working to determine the cause of the fire.
