NORFOLK, Va. - A man was caught on camera stealing liquor bottles from the ABC store at 159 W. Ocean View Avenue.

Surveillance video shows the brazen burglar kicking in the window and walking into the store. Once inside, he takes a plastic garbage bag out of his pocket and fills it with several bottles of alcohol. He takes the bag and leaves the store through the window. It happened March 30 around 2:45 a.m.

"Wow. He's stuffing the garbage bag full. That’s ridiculous," said Ryan Miller, who just purchased a home in Ocean View. "Hopefully they've been working on putting more upscale grocery stores in there and that gets rid of people breaking in.  Maybe lowers the crime rate. I just want to see the neighborhood get better. I just bought there."

News 3 spoke with the store manager, who said unfortunately she's experienced burglaries before. However, she's hopeful about one thing.

"Watching it, I was just like, 'Okay he knows he's on camera, he's going to get caught. This is ABC,'" said Keisha Henderson.

Police ask anyone who knows anything about this crime to contact the Norfolk Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP or submit a tip through the P3Tips mobile app.
