Firefighters respond to Chesapeake brush fire

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – A brush fire damaged nearly one acre of land in the 900 block of Michael Drive, according to fire officials.

Firefighters responded after residents reported hearing a loud explosion Monday around 2 p.m.

Clouds of smoke led crews to the brush fire.

The fire was brought under control before any buildings were damaged.

The cause is under investigation.
